During the software development process, errors are inevitably introduced and some of them are even amplified as a project progresses. To detect these errors so that they can be removed, we need to test the software. The success of testing depends on the testing strategy that is selected, the plan that is implemented, and the test cases that are used. Considering that most software projects are delivered in a limited time span using fixed resources, effective test cases must be used to optimize the available resources.

This course will enable software professionals to understand the importance, objectives, principles, and limitations of software testing. It will also enable them to understand the broad approaches and techniques for test case design and the aspects involved in planning for software testing.

The certificate would confirm the understanding of the participant to:

• Exam duration: 2 hours
  (Breakup of duration: 30 min Objective, 40 min Subjective, 50 min Case study)
• Question paper consists of following sections:
• Section 1 Objective: 20% weightage (20 questions)
• Section 2 Subjective: 30% weightage (10 questions)
• Section 3 Case Study: 50% weightage (2 case studies, 3 options would be provided to chose from)
• Passing percentage
• For each of the 3 sections: 60%
• Overall percentage in certification exam: 75%
